/ What exactly does the term organic cotton mean?
What is organic cotton?
Organic cotton fabric is grown and milled without the use of chemicals and pesticides following the Global Organic Textiles Standards (GOTS). The standards allow: For spinning: paraffin,
paraffin oils and substances on basis of natural raw materials are allowed.
As a sizing agent for weaving: Starch derivatives (i.e. corn starch) are allowed during processing.
No heavy metals (general exception iron), no GMO, no formaldehyde, no ammonia, no bleach (except oxygen based, i.e. hydrogen peroxide, ozone) are allowed during processing.
